What would you do if you had to start a Slots Apps company from scratch?

If someone gave you $10 million and 5 years and set you the target of making a beautiful Slots Apps company that makes fun and beautiful slots apps games, how would you approach it?

What if you had unlimited money and unlimited time?

What if you had just $1 million and just 3 years?

These are interesting questions because, as opposed to most other game development and app development areas, there is almost no one sharing their journey of building Slots Apps or building a Slots Apps company.

How we would go about things if we had $10 million and 5 years to make fun and beautiful Slots Apps

This is how we would do it (and, coincidentally, how we are doing it, albeit with less than $10 million).

First 2 Years – Year 1 & 2 are Finding The Right Market and The Right Product for The Right Market

First, spend the first 2 years in Market Research and Product Market Fit research on two fronts

First Front -> Existing Market & Existing Products that are successful

  1. 1st team does comprehensive research on what existing Slots Apps are doing well, how much money they are making, whether the customers are happy, and every possible aspect
  2. Focus on which are the highest quality slots apps
  3. Focus on which are the highest grossing slots apps

Second Front -> Existing Customer Research

  1. 2nd team does deep research into customers’ motivations and happiness levels
  2. What makes customers happy with a slots app
  3. What makes customers spend money on a slots app
  4. What makes customers recurring customers and not burn out or get bored
  5. What makes customers consistently happy

These two fronts are equally important.

An important caveat – We would, under no circumstances, try to create a brand new area within Slots.

Why not? Because R&D is for established companies. If you are a new company then go to a proven market and go to a proven sub-market within that market.

Create a product that ALREADY has a market.

After you’ve made money, then you can try and create visionary products. Please don’t forget that even Apple made iPods and entered a known and proven market. Then they entered mobile phones, which was another proven market.

You aren’t Alexander Graham Bell and you don’t have to invent the telephone. Do what is already proven to work.

Next 2 Years – Years 3 and 4 are making The Best Possible Slots App for a Proven Market

This is the really tough part.

Make EXACTLY what is proven to work in the existing market.

Avoid all distractions. Avoid all ideas for new features and new twists.

Make Exactly what makes customers happy and makes you money

This is exceedingly simple. You have to make a very high quality version and your vision of what product is proven to work.

You obviously add tons of quality and your own soul into the product. At the same time, it must be a PROVEN product which has a PROVEN market.

5th Year – Year 5 is launching and then starting the process of Improving the Product to do better and better

Year 5 is when the product is finished (hopefully in very high quality) and when you launch the product and start serving customers and start making money.

From this point, Year 5 and ever after, is just a beautiful positive cycle of

  1. Improving the Product based on customer feedback and customer behavior
    • Whether or not customers spend money on your product is the biggest data point
  2. Improving the quality of the product
  3. Getting better and better at serving customer needs and listening to customers
  4. Getting better and better at making money from customers in a win-win manner
    • Customers should be getting good value for the money they spend
    • Slots app company should be getting good and reasonable money and profits for the value they provide
